Storytelling, Theatre and Improvisation – 18–24 year olds

Our mission is to offer a fun, dynamic, immersive English language learning space for young adults with the focus on creating a piece of theatre from scratch.

You’ll bring your stories and experiences to the table and together we’ll look at shaping those stories for greatest dramatic impact. Whether your talent is for acting, directing, scriptwriting or music, we’ll employ your skill, sharpen your techniques and do it all through the medium of English.

The aims of this course are:

To create a piece of theatre in English from personal stories and character development.
To use this process to own the language and feel comfortable in it.
To explore different ways of presenting a story in English.
To learn how to edit a script
To improvise and feeling confident to do it in English.
To learn to speak up and out in English. Confidence in your voice and your story.
To use your talents whether it’s directing, acting or script writing, in front of an audience or behind the scenes.
To have FUN!

What is included in the cost of the ten-day course:

44 hours of task-based storytelling, theatre and improvised learning in English in a group with a maximum number of 12 in the class.
Ratio maximum of one experienced language teacher and theatre practitioner to six students.
Supervised weekend excursions.
Breakfast and evening meals provided by your host family
Accommodation in single room for 10 nights.
A tour of Faversham
A celebratory BBQ
Refreshments on the last day.
All the materials- paper, pens etc
